Database Administrator - DBA High Salary
DB2 / Oracle
Responsibilities
• Support bulk data manipulation and migration tasks
• Perform capacity planning for all DB systems
• Troubleshoot database issues, identify root causes, and implement optimal solutions.
• Determines appropriate DB2 data structures for various development projects
• Manages data-structure metadata in the DBMS
• Administer DB2 database infrastructure from design to deployment with existing legacy Oracle DB.
• Coordinate with platform team to manage the implementation/rollout of data structures
• Utilize DB2 subject matter expertise to design or re-use, configure, and implement database solutions/processes that maximize system availability, efficiency, effectiveness, integrity, security, recoverability, and supportability, all while minimizing costs.
Requirements
• Minimum 3 years working experience in a banking environment
• Minimum 3 years of experience with high-volume bulk data processing
• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building and administering DBMS (DB2 / Oracle)
• DB2 Advanced Database Administrator (version 8 or 9) preferred
• Demonstrated experience with applying CPUs and Patch Sets
• Demonstrated experience with Unix shell scripting
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working with high demands and short deadlines
• Demonstrated experience involving strong communications skills (written and verbal), proven ability to effectively interact with individuals across business units and at various levels
• Highly organized and possessing strong analytical skills
• Highly adaptable with ability to work in a fast paced demanding environment
