Key Responsibilities:

• During rehearsal, standby to assist all departments in case of failure of any technical show element.
• Train the maintenance crew in using CMMS system.
• Participate in evaluating and managing staff performance; assist in hiring new employees.
• Participate in forecasting the yearly maintenance budgets and capital expenditures in conjunction with the Technical Director.
• Participate in the development of maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Develop a safe working environment by conforming to all established safety policies and procedures, participate in required safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training together with the Health and Safety Officer.
• Communicate with Vendors and manufacturers on repairs and purchases.
• Maintain and update the inventory of supplies and equipment as well as inspection and maintenance records.
• Be responsible for advising on safe work practices.
• Work with the Artistic team regarding changes, development and evolution of the show.
• Act as the Head of Carpentry to run the stage.
• Participate in the ordering and procuring of department supplies.
• Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls.
• Develop a thorough knowledge of all Technical Department equipment specific to the production to operate it safely.
• Participate in special projects, including the installation of additional show elements as directed.
• Participate in department training and development process.
• Lead team members to fabricate in metal and wood
• Advise the team in props making.
• Advice and report on base building snags.
• Promote best communications practices within the Heads of Department and Leads.
• Perform other tasks and projects assigned by the Technical Directors.

• College Degree or equivalent experience in automation, theatre or a related field experience.
• 4+ years of operational management experience with large-scale theatrical performances.
• MS Office Systems profound.
• Good knowledge of networks systems, electrical, mechanical and control theory.
• Familiarity with OSHA or IOSH guidelines.
• Experience using a CMMS or any other work order based preventive maintenance database system.
• Wood/Metal fabrication skills.
• Fluency in English is essential.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical or hydraulic schematics.
• Ability to use AutoCAD is an asset.
